Well Done 2012
Rob Flint-
In this unique one-to-one performance piece, the artist will praise, admire, acclaim, and otherwise express a whole-hearted affirmation of any single object or other personal achievement chosen by the sponsor to present to him, privately, for not less than ten minutes.
The work must take place within one week of the sponsor being decided, at a time place agreed by artist and sponsor.
The object of praise presented by the sponsor will be of a size and/or duration appropriate for the ten-minute performance. Any technical means by which the object is made known to the artist is the responsibility of the sponsor. The work will be delivered verbally in English, although the sponsor may arrange translation if they wish. The performance will not be recorded. Any pre-existing contract or legal arrangement between artist and sponsor will be suspended for the duration of the work, by agreement. All physical arrangements concerning the performance - seating/standing positions, proximity, angle of gaze and other eye movements, the pitch, volume and frequency of any spoken contents are likewise subject to agreement between sponsor and artist. This agreement may be made in advance verbally, or tacitly during the performance itself, using atavistic, instinctual, and time-honoured means. Any long term psychological or behavioural effect of the performance, beneficial or otherwise, is not the legal responsibility of the artist. The spoken content of the work remains the property of the artist, and may not be used elsewhere without permission. Any personal, financial or cultural value the verbal contents of the performed work may have will be nullified by breach of this agreement. Both artist and sponsor agree in advance to behave with reasonableness and decency, and to have a reasonable standard of self-presentation and personal hygiene. Where possible, the artist agrees to remain sincere and truthful for the duration of the performance.
